Hamza Andreas Tzortzis is an international public speaker and a writer. Hamza presents "Face the Faith" on Islam Channel and is a senior researcher and lecturer for iERA. He has debated prominent intellectuals and academics. Some of his interlocutors include the leading humanist Peter Cave, the editor of the Philosophy Now mazagine Rick Lewis and the highly acclaimed Professor Simon Blackburn. More recently Hamza debated one of the leading American atheists and secular activists Dr. Ed Buckner.
"Dawkins’ also rejects a supernatural designer because he thinks, as an explanation, it lack explanatory power; in other words, no advance is made. He raises this objection because he feels that a supernatural designer is just as complex as design. However Dawkins’ objection is problematic as he assumes that a supernatural designer is as complex as the universe. But a supernatural designer, in other words God, is one of the simplest concepts understood by all. This opinion is expressed by many Philosophers including the famous atheist turned theist Professor Anthony Flew." Click here to read more.

Amazing - I enjoyed watching this much. Keep the great work on Hamza! We should all play our roles in conveying to humanity the great nature of Islam & try to channel youths in serving all human kind in best ways and prevent them from getting into trouble or harm others.
I believe at the same time we should be thoughtful as we criticize Christianity & Judaism and not do that, if ever, without first considering thoroughly God's revelations to these people.
Bless you God.
MashaAllah.. an eye opening lecture. inshaAllah, we would love to see more and more. May Allah (swt) reward for all that you have done.
Waseem, Islamic theology holds that the scriptures of the Jews and Christians have been corrupted. Thus, it is permissible (if not praiseworthy)to criticize their corrupt beliefs.
as a Muslim I believe that God is good and wants good for his slaves, therefore God has been consistent throughout history to teach man what he needs in order to know God and to worship God. My heart bleeds for Rick Lewis, why you may ask? Because he is denying his own soul what it needs the most, and brother I believe you did an exceptional work (although too much praise is not good for the heart of a Muslim, even the saying of the prophet peace be upon him testifies to this when he heard the praise of one man to another ‘You have destroyed ¬or broke the back of the man!’”)
I believe you would have a greater vantage point by 'hitting' Rick with those certain concepts derived from the Quran which clearly bears testimony for God and as proof for Gods existence. I also believe when he was negating the point of Evil if God is good then there should not be evil, and when he later on progressed to say perhaps there could be a kind of a God who created creation and then restricts himself from interference etc, I believe he is a Muslim without knowing, God says as you most certainly know My mercy prevails over my Wrath a clear conclusion can be derived from that and many ahadiths that god has laid down rules for himself in the way he governs the affairs, indeed god said to the pen write and so it wrote down everything.
I sincerely believe this debate was very good and so encouraging to see the good manners that is usually lacking in debates like these, but I hope brother, as I assume you have already done, that you did (or will do) present to Rick the epistemological proofs for Islam, he seemed generally good and generally in his reasoning working from a Humanistic Judeo Christian vantage point of view, which is to his disadvantage.
Surely you do not need me to say all I have said, but I felt the need to express the emotions that was brought forth from viewing this debate.
Kind regards,
salamu alaikum
Um Maryama
Assalamualikum
Mashallah bro, you do come across in your debates very 'philosophical' in your responces and in the way you put forward your argument, which sadly is lacking in the muslim world these days.
Thumbs up to Rick for being humble in his mannerism and his arguments. Though, I think he could have put forward better counter arguments. Occam's razor is a most interesting concept but a very confuzzled one in the light of philosophy of religion as many people use the razor differently.
Good job on the debate
wasalam
